If you have modified your engine or are running a tuning cylinder, there is often significantly more power available – but this brings little benefit if the original final drive ratio is too short. This is exactly when "the engine revs itself to death at higher speeds": the RPMs skyrocket, but the top speed hardly increases.

With this Malossi Secondary Ratio 15/41, you bring the final RPMs to a more pleasant level and can finally convert the available power into more top speed. The gears and intermediate shafts are first-class craftsmanship and designed for use in a tuned setup – ideal for many Piaggio and Gilera 2T maxi-scooters (e.g., Runner/Typhoon) as well as suitable Aprilia models.

And don't worry about the well-known garage myths: a longer ratio does not have to mean that your scooter accelerates worse from a standstill. Often, minimally stiffer clutch springs are enough to compensate for this. Conversely: if the gearbox is far too short for the available horsepower, you are wasting valuable power – your setup could simply pull more.
