Meaning of the battery symbols
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out dustbin. This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005% mercury by weight, more than 0.002% cadmium by weight or more than 0.004% lead by weight, the chemical designation of the respective pollutant is located under the dustbin symbol - where "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.

Note on the disposal of electrical appliances
The following information is intended for private households that use electrical and/ or electronic equipment. Please follow these important instructions in the interest of environmentally sound disposal of old equipment as well as your own safety.
1. Notes on the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment
Owners of old devices have to bring them to a separate collection from the unsorted municipal waste. Waste electrical and electronic equipment may therefore not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste and in particular does not belong in household waste. Rather, these old devices are to be collected separately and disposed of, for example, via the local collection and return systems.
Owners of waste equipment must also separate used batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed by the waste equipment from it before handing it over at a collection point. The latter does not apply insofar as the waste equipment is separated from other waste equipment in accordance with Section 14 (5) sentences 2 and 3 ElektroG within the framework of opting by the public waste management authorities for the purpose of preparing it for reuse.
2. Meaning of the symbol according to Annex 3 to the ElektroG
On the basis of the symbol according to Annex 3 to the ElektroG, owners can recognize old equipment that is to be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste. The symbol for separate collection of electrical and electronic equipment represents a crossed-out wheeled garbage can and is designed as follows:
3. Privacy Notice
On old devices to be disposed of, there are sometimes sensitive personal data (such as on a PC or smartphone), which must not fall into the hands of third parties. We expressly point out that end users of old devices must take responsibility for the deletion of personal data on the old devices to be disposed of.
