With this small add-on you save a lot of money for an expensive, adjustable ignition system!

The ignition timing of Vespa is fixed and is correctly set to a fixed value by twisting the anchor plate (and subsequent flashing). Depending on the engine set-up (low control angle, torque bomber or speed monster), an engine naturally needs different ignition angles. Ignite the engine always before the TDC (top dead center of the piston), so that the mixture can burn completely and the force introduction does not come too early. At higher speeds, a later ignition is required to thermally relieve the cylinder.

But straight from the speed room (Tourensetups) one can release with a lot of pre-ignition still a lot of torque . In the case, however, it would be important not to run at higher speeds with these values ​​(over 20 degrees of pre-ignition)! And this is where the Smart Booster (KyTronik) comes into play:


It contains 16 different, selectable ignition curves ! These can be easily selected via a small potentiometer. A curve of this is similar to the well-known Vespa-Tronic curve !

By simple interposing on the CDI, the small device is ready for use. One should, of course, set the basic setting of the ignition on its Vespa to more early ignition before the first run! The KyTronik then gradually decreases the ignition angle depending on the curve and speed. The engine gets a lot of ignition at the bottom (by the adjustment on the vehicle) and thus in low speeds neat power. As the engine speed increases and the ignition starts to diminish, the engine's torsion is encouraged and the engine is simultaneously relieved of thermal stress!

Depending on the tuning base, the ignition must be set to 24-28 degrees before TDC before using the Kytronik!

Even in idle (for a good starting behavior), the ignition angle is reset by the Kytronik. We were able to observe a very stable idle.

An (English) overview is included. KyTronik plans to attach the box to the CDI via cable ties. Some also build their own small mount for it. Cable length = 165mm.

Note: Is not compatible with CDIs by Mitsubhi! It is best to use the blue original CDI (Ducati) or a similar CDI.
