LUBRICATION
Lubrication of the lower connecting rod bearing is done through two large lubrication slots and a total of four additional pockets laterally. The SSC race bearing and the side guide disks ensure solid bearing loading. Lubrication of the upper connecting rod bearing is done through two lubrication holes. The INA piston pin bearing is included in the crankshaft delivery.

INTAKE ANGLE
The bgm PRO Touring crankshaft has a significantly better layout of intake timing compared to many other racing cranks. With tuned cylinders, the standard crank with its very short intake timing does not match. The bgm PRO crank, on the other hand, closes on a PX engine case approximately 65° after upper dead center (depending on the engine case, this is different from the factory). These valve timings can be used to optimize the motor well.
Tip: If the intake is machined so that the crankshaft releases the intake slot earlier, additional power can be gained. A good value has proven to be about 120° v.OT.

RELEASE
The design of the PX engine cranks is based on that of the first 125cm³ engines from 1960 with about 5 PS power. Unfortunately, Piaggio did not really change this construction when enlarging the displacement later. Thus, the load capacity of the crankshaft with the series-standard 200ccm models with 12PS is already calculated at its limit. The crank arms are very narrow and have very little overlap (material that, in terms of diameter, is available beyond the lower connecting rod journal). Therefore, neither a particularly high press fit nor a large connecting rod journal can be used, as would be necessary for the power readiness of today's engines.
The BGM PRO Touring crankshafts have a very high material quality and bearing loading. In addition, the crank pins are glued for maximum torsional stiffness. Based on positive experiences, gathered over many thousands of test kilometers with our own daily driven motors, we approve the BGM PRO Touring crankshafts for engine power up to 25PS. We recommend using a lightened flywheel with max. 2300gr in this power range.

Conclusion
In summary, the bgm PRO crankshaft offers highest quality in all aspects. Precision in manufacturing, materials used and above all precise balancing leave no wishes unfulfilled. This ensures an extremely smooth and vibration-free engine run.

Tip
It is best to order the 24x35x7mm O-ring seal for Gilera Runner at the same time. The seating of the bgm crankshaft is wider than usual and can therefore be operated with a double lip seal.
