Malossi contrast spring yellow (K4,5 / L120 mm) – more grip on the V-belt for 125–150 ccm maxi-scooters

This reinforced Malossi contrast spring (yellow) is intended for the rear converter of 125 ccm and 150 ccm maxi-scooters with Yamaha/Minarelli engines. Due to the higher contact force on the V-belt, the belt is significantly less prone to slipping – the belt traction is noticeably improved. That is precisely why the spring is particularly useful if your setup is tuned or if you repeatedly have problems with a slipping belt.

Installation is uncomplicated: the spring is simply replaced with the original. For many popular models such as Yamaha X-Max 125, Vespa GTS 125 or MBK Skyliner 125, this is a proven solution when the variator should operate cleanly under load.

Note on pressure/comparison: Unfortunately, Malossi does not specify exactly how much the pressure changes compared to the OEM contrast spring for maxi-scooters. Instead, spring rate (K) and spring length are provided – this allows the springs to be compared with each other at least:

• For large scooters: Green contrast springs are softer than the OEM spring.
• All other colors are harder than the OEM spring.
• The higher the (K) value, the harder the spring.
• With the same (K) value, the longer spring is harder.
