Description
BGM FASTER FLOW SI carburettors - optimised series carburettors for more powerful engines
More powerful engines require a continuous and reliable supply of gasoline.
The BGM PRO Faster Flow carburettors are optimised precisely to meet these requirements. They are based on a brand-new SI24/24 E or SI26/26 E Dell'Orto/Spaco carburettor. They are completely dismantled, tested, revised, cleaned and completed again with great care in house, which means that they also meet the high requirements of a heavily modified engine.
MODIFICATIONS
-
-
an enlarged connecting hole from float chamber to nozzle stock
  -
an additional hole in the area of the float needle
  -
cushioned float needle

These modifications result in a significantly improved supply of fuel, which means that there is no shortage of gas, even with very powerful exhaust systems. This measure is extremely important, particularly when using an air funnel, in order to keep the mixture composition stable over the entire speed range. The spring-loaded float needle has a significantly longer life and can compensate for vibrations very well. The improved fuel supply is of course also an advantage on complete series engines.
BENEFITS
-
- No more empty nozzle stock when using a strong exhaust
- Still easy to adjust even with outputs above 20HP
- unobtrusive and powerful
- quiet and suitable for everyday use (separate lubrication!)
AVAILABLE IN
-
-
Ø24mm cross section
  -
Ø26mm cross section
  -
for mixture lubrication 1:50 (oil is added manually when refueling)
  -
for separate lubrication (vehicles with oil pump as standard, from 1984)

SUITABLE FOR
The carburettor is suitable for all engines with SI20/20D or 24/24E carburettors.
These are all Vespa PX80 (V8X), PX125 (VNX), PX150 (VLX) and PX200 (VSX) models.
Please make sure that the vehicle already has an oil pump (all built after 1984, then choose the carburettor with separate lubrication here).
They are also suitable for all older engines that have a rotary vane control (crankshaft controls the intake).
These include Vespa VNB, VBA, VBB, Super (VBC/VNC), GL (VLA/VGL), GT/GTR (VNL), Sprint (VBL), Rally (VSD/VSE).
It can therefore also be used on models with originally only 80-150cc, which only have a Ø20mm carburettor from the factory.
TIP: Carburettors for engines with separate lubrication can generally also be used on engines without an oil pump if the pull rod for the throttle valve is replaced.
They only have a hole for the externally supplied oil. On engines without separate lubrication, this hole is closed by the carburettor tank.
CHANGES
Older vehicles (e.g. VBB, VNB, VLA/VGL, VLB) still have small air filters, so you should switch to the filter on the PX models here. The carburettor pan of the models originally with a diameter of 20 mm carburettor should be adjusted in cross section to the larger carburettor in the transition area to the engine. In this way, the full cross-section of the carburettor is used.
TUNING
The built-in nozzle is the same as the standard spray on the PX200 models.
This is already very suitable for many tunings based on 177cc, only the main jet should be adjusted.
Engines with 200cc and more sometimes require slightly larger side jets (e.g. 58/160).
In principle, voting takes place from too big (too fat) to lean.
The initial nozzle sizes should therefore be selected so that the motor stutters (over-greases). This gives you a safe starting point for voting.
This is best done with our nozzle sets.
NOTE
Modified (drilled) air filters or intake funnels generally require fatter nozzles due to better air correction. The suction funnels (also known as Venturi) may need a main air correction nozzle that is smaller and therefore has a greasing effect (e.g. 140 instead of 160).
Tips on how the individual carburettor components work can be found on the individual parts (auxiliary nozzle, air nozzle, slider).
All new SI carburettors are manufactured under license by Spaco in India. These carburettors have been and have been used in Piaggio's series production for a long time. They are of the same quality as the original Dell'Orto carburettors. They also go through quality assurance at Dell'Orto and are therefore sometimes also packaged in Dell'Orto boxes.
