Alternator and voltage regulator
The BGM PRO set uses a modern electrical system with voltage regulator. The alternator has modified coil wiring and produces a high voltage even at low speeds. As a result, there is a bright, stable light even when idle. At high speeds, the voltage regulator automatically adjusts to a stable and gentle 12-13 volts. This also offers the option of charging a battery and/or supporting a USB charging socket for mobile phones, GPS, etc.

Ignition
The BGM Pro ignition uses CDI technology, which has been tried and tested millions of times over, as used by Piaggio from the 1980s onward. The ignition pulse is triggered contactlessly via a so-called pick-up signal. The high ignition current, even at low speeds, ensures perfect starting behavior under all conditions. The contactless ignition release is stable well into the five-digit speed range.

Due to their weight,
the pole wheels are tailored to the respective application: At 1600 grams,
the small frame models are perfect for the lively characteristics of the small motors.
At 2000 grams, the large frame motors offer a wonderful mix of plenty of running culture and excellent acceleration capacity.
They are finely balanced, offer fantastic run, high ignition timing accuracy and very good magnetization.
Thanks to its smaller circumference and optimised wing surfaces, the engine is very well attached to the gas and has better acceleration and slightly more power.

Retrofitting
Vehicles without a factory voltage regulator (all up to around 1980) require an additional new vehicle wiring harness for easy conversion. Of course, we also offer this. It has a centralized power supply with just one cable so that it can be combined with the accompanying voltage regulator.

CONCLUSION
Very nice set to convert the Vespa to a modern, reliable and powerful electrical system. All parts are permanently available as spare parts.

NOTE: The original fan cover only fits with a spacer between the cover and the motor housing (see accessories). Alternatively, the fan wheel cover of the Vespa PK models can be used.
