Malossi HTQ Secondary Gearbox 14/43 – longer gear ratio for your 125cc

If you have made your engine more powerful, for example through machining or the installation of a tuning cylinder, there is often still a lot of potential in the top speed – unfortunately, the standard final gear ratio often acts as a brake. The original ratio is usually chosen so that the stock engine can pull it safely. As soon as more HP is available, the engine quickly reaches its limit at higher speeds: the RPM increases, but the maximum speed hardly increases.

This is exactly where the Malossi HTQ Secondary Gearbox 14/43 comes in. The gears and intermediate shafts are not only processed to a first-class standard, they also bring the RPMs at speed to a more pleasant level and can simultaneously significantly increase the top speed – ideal for setups on Yamaha X-Max 125, Yamaha X-City 125 and MBK Cityliner 125 (as well as other compatible models).

And don't worry about the usual myths: a longer gear ratio does not automatically mean that your scooter starts off worse. In most cases, slightly stiffer clutch springs are sufficient to compensate for this. On the contrary: if the gearbox is too short for the available power, you are actually wasting performance because the engine could actually "pull" significantly more.
