If you have made your scooter more powerful, e.g. through modification or the installation of a tuning cylinder, the engine can often translate this into more top speed – unfortunately, the original final gear ratio often limits this. By default, the ratio is usually chosen so that the original engine can pull its power without problems. However, as soon as more HP is available, the engine quickly reaches a "dead end" at higher speeds: the RPM increases sharply, while the top speed barely increases.

And don't worry about the well-known myths that your scooter will accelerate worse from a standstill: usually, minimally harder clutch springs are enough to compensate for this.
