Description
The BGM crankshafts are forged just like in the good old Piaggio days. During forging, the material is pressed together under temperature and at high pressure. This results in a higher density of the material. Heat is dissipated much better. The material is more resistant to distortion. This is a huge advantage over the custom-made crankshafts from other manufacturers whose materials often do not even reach the level of a standard shaft.
Tuning:
The high quality of the material used also allows the use of very lightweight pole wheels without the risk of crankshaft damage. As a result, better acceleration behavior can be combined with significantly increased engine durability. This is particularly important on high-capacity and high-speed engines.
Control angle:
The control angles of this crankshaft are the same as those of a standard shaft. It is therefore equally suitable for building a standard 50cc engine as well as a solid road tuning with more displacement. The precise manufacturing, the material used and the good storage enable tens of thousands of kilometers of mileage without any problems.
For higher performance requirements, we also offer the same shaft as a racing version with an extended intake control angle.
Design:
crankshaft with the so-called small 19 mm cone. Such waves can be recognized by the diameter of the alternator-side shaft sealing surface. This is the surface that is located on the crankshaft stump after the cone but in front of the limalager's bearing seat. This shaft is ideal for converting engines that still have a gunmetal bushing as an upper connecting rod bearing to a conventional bearing. The bushings are often already knocked out and can no longer cope with an expansion of the engine capacity.

Anyone who wants to significantly expand the engine capacity based on the small stroke of the 50cc models (up to 110cc is possible!) Should consider using the PK 50 XL shaft type with 20mm cone diameter. In contrast to the narrow pointed 19mm cone, which can sometimes break under heavy load on an engine converted to over 100cc, the much more heavily dimensioned lima stump of the 20mm cone shafts is immune to any load. However, a conversion of the ignition is then unavoidable as it is not possible or useful to equip a pole wheel with a large cone for the old ignition technology.
