PROBLEM
The cable colors of the Vespatronic ignition differ greatly from the conventional color scheme of a Piaggio cable harness for electronic ignitions (which is also continued by the BGM Pro conversion harness).
Piaggio/BGM use green (motor off), blue (luminous flux), black (mass).

SOLUTION
The BGM Pro cable branch combines the Vespatronic with the Conversion cable harness in a brilliant way. The cable colors on each connection side of the BGM Pro cable branch correspond to the Vespatronic or the BGM Pro cable harness. All you have to do is connect paint to paint to get a fully functional ignition. The cable branch is ready to install, with pre-pressed and insulated cable lugs/round plugs.

NECESSARY WORK
The Vespatronic ignitions are delivered with loose cable ends (without pre-assembled cable lugs). The BGM Pro cable branch therefore comes with cable lugs

• to provide Vespatronic cables with ring lugs
• to equip the BGM Pro Conversion cable harness with a central round plug (as with PX Lusso and PK) (to do this, cut off the already assembled cable lugs on the conversion cable harness).

Both jobs can be done either with crimping pliers or a soldering iron (corresponding tools can be found under the “Accessories” tab).

GREY CABLE BRANCH (light/motor off)
The cable branch with the grey protective cover is connected to the Vespatronic with the ring lugs (in the cable box attached to the motor). The other end with the round plug is connected to the BGM Pro Conversion cable harness (replace the normal cable lugs with the enclosed round plug beforehand).

BLACK CABLE BRANCH (Ignition Coil/CDI)
The cable branch with the black protective cover is also connected to the engine in the cable box, color on paint. The other end is led to the Vespatronic CDI/ignition coil and connected there (reverse polarity protection through differently sized cable lugs). Depending on the vehicle and engine, this cable may be shortened individually (e.g. if the CDI is mounted very close to the cable box).
