BGM ORIGINAL cable harness suitable for all Vespa PX models built up to 1982

Italian version without battery. With this, the turn signals, the horn (so-called snarre) and all other consumers are supplied with power directly via the AC electrical system. The ignition base plate used in these vehicles with only 3 cables (contact ignition models) or 5 cables (vehicles with electronic ignition) is suitable for this purpose.

CONVERSION (WITHOUT BATTERY)
This wiring harness is perfect for converting vehicles that have a factory battery to simple and simple on-board electrical systems without a battery. The version with all included switches is suitable for this purpose (BGM6685KT).

COMPONENTS REQUIRED FOR THE CONVERSION

• VOLTAGE REGULATOR
  Basically, this cable harness uses the simple 3-pole voltage regulator (G|G|M) (e.g. 9100001). The 5-pole voltage regulator (A|A|B+|G|M) originally used in vehicles that were delivered from the factory with batteries can continue to be used. Only the B+ and G connections remain unoccupied (formerly charging current for the battery). A better alternative is the compact and powerful BGM Pro voltage regulator (BGM6690). For example, this can also supply a USB socket with 12V DC to charge the mobile phone/GPS, etc.
  
  

• IGNITION BASE PLATE /LIMA

  The type with 5 cables is used as the ignition base plate (also recognizable by the blue and black cable to the only power supply). The original 7-cable Lima of the models with battery can no longer be used. However, due to age, these often damage the cable insulation anyway. A conversion to the more powerful ignition base plate of the later Lusso models (e.g. BGM8025N or BGM8032N) is therefore highly recommended. This significantly increases the overall light output of the AC network, as electricity is no longer diverted to charge the battery. This means that old PX models can also be equipped with a 35/35W lamp. Most alternators with 5 cables have a round plug. The cable harness offered here has 6.3 mm flat plugs (as in the original Italian version). Here, either the cable harness can be converted to a round plug or the ignition base plate can be converted to a flat plug. The necessary parts are included in the accessories.

• FLASHER RELAY

  The models with batteries use a DC (DC) flasher relay.
  After the conversion, an AC (alternating current) flasher relay is required (e.g. 1195703).
