Malossi 172ccm Cylinder Kit AC (Ø 65 mm) – substantial "out-of-the-box" tuning for Piaggio 125–150 2T

The Malossi 172ccm cylinder is the cylinder for air-cooled Piaggio 125–150ccm two-stroke engines. If you want to give your Piaggio TPH 125, Piaggio Skipper / SKR 125–150 or an Aprilia SR 125 noticeably more power, this kit is the proven solution: fits onto the engine casings without further machining – classic "out-of-the-box" tuning.

The aluminum cylinder comes with a coated cylinder bore (similar to Nikasil) – making it extremely durable and resistant. Additionally, the combustion chamber of the cylinder head increases the compression and thus the performance. Sufficiently large cooling fins on the cylinder and cylinder head ensure stable temperatures.

Especially on setups such as Piaggio Skipper / SKR or Piaggio TPH 125, the engine runs significantly fuller with the 172ccm – and if you want even more later: there is still plenty of potential through professional machining of ports and timing angles.

Recommended Additions (Setup Tips)

• Ideal: 25 mm Dellorto carburetor kit
• Moderate machining of the air filter box
• Longer final gear ratio from Malossi – makes the engine run noticeably fuller with the 172ccm
• Exhaust recommendation: silencer of the Runner FX 125 / FXR 180 (also increases performance)
• If you are running the original 20.5mm Dellorto or Mikuni VM20: main jet and if necessary needle position must be adjusted so that the engine does not run too lean
• For a very durable build: in combination with a Top Racing HPC racing crankshaft
• When using the 172ccm kit: reinforced V-belt (Malossi or original Piaggio 180cc belt) recommended
• Further useful additions such as a Multivar variator are available on request
