Description

The history of the Italian company RMS dates back to 1945. To this day, it produces first-class replacement and accessory parts in absolute OEM quality for classic Vespa scooters, alongside tuning parts.

We carry the cable for the throttle grip in two variations: one end is always open and must be cut to size accordingly on the vehicle, the other end is available either with a small soldering lug or the larger barrel lug!

Generally:

  • Small soldering lug = for hooking onto the throttle slide on the carburetor
  • Barrel lug = for hooking onto the throttle cam on the handlebar


Bowden cables are very important components on a Vespa! Whether gas, brake, gearbox or clutch - everything is controlled here via cable. Therefore, the cables should also be regularly maintained accordingly. A broken cable is annoying - it usually happens on a tour when you don't have a spare with you! Therefore, the tip for all Vespa drivers: Whether in the glove compartment or for the garage at home, having a few spare cables in stock can never hurt!

Tip: Replace frayed cables in good time, before they break! Adjust a few millimeters of cable play (according to manufacturer's specifications). Cables that are running too tightly can also break quickly!

Do not lubricate cables with PTFE outer sheath with penetrating oils! There are special dry lubricants based on PTFE for this purpose. All others are best maintained with penetrating oils such as WD40!
