Secure Ride with BGM PRO Motor Silent Rubber Sets

The BGM PRO motor silent rubber mounts for Vespa PK models are available in three versions: Soft, Medium and Hard:

• Soft/Original: Nearly identical to original Piaggio silent rubber mounts. Very comfortable, our recommendation for everyday riders without sporty ambitions.
  Color marking: 2 x red

• Medium/Touring: Slightly firmer than the original Piaggio silent rubber mounts. This results in significantly better handling without compromising everyday quality. The reinforced rubber mounts have asymmetric hardness levels. Therefore, riding comfort is retained despite the firmer suspension.
  Color marking: 1 x red, 1 x green

• Hard/Sport: For racing or tuning enthusiasts who are not bothered by vibrations, but who highly value the proverbial ride on rails.
  Color marking: 2 x green

For high active safety, we recommend regularly replacing motor silent rubber mounts. These support the entire engine block in the vehicle frame and transmit all drive, brake and steering forces. Together with the rider's weight and, if applicable, that of a passenger, intact silent rubber mounts make a very positive difference in that you simply don't notice them.

Worn silent rubber mounts can be recognized by spongy handling, similar to a tire with too little air pressure. To check, move the engine transversely to the direction of travel. To do this, hold the vehicle with your left hand, grasp the rear tire at the 3 o'clock position with your right hand and try to push and pull it towards you. The engine should only move slightly in the frame. If the engine can be noticeably moved in the frame, a replacement of the silent rubber mounts should be planned in the near future. Installation is simple and is ideal, for example, during an engine overhaul, when the engine has already been removed.

With the bgm motor silent rubber mounts supplied in pairs, the chassis regains its tracking accuracy, steering precision and rigidity.

Tip: In conjunction with the silent rubber mounts, the shock absorbers/suspension struts should also be checked regularly. Here, too, the motto is better to replace them sooner rather than later.

INSTALLATION

There are two different silent rubber mount systems on the PK models:

• Type 1: Two inserted silent blocks, each with a short vulcanized steel tube (like the BGM silent rubber mounts)

• Type 2: A long tube and pressed-in rubber mounts which are secured by a retaining ring on the tube

The BGM silent rubber mounts are suitable for both types. The old rubber mounts can be easily removed from the housing in Type 1 (pry them out). In Type 2, the crimped retaining rings of the tube must be removed, the tube pressed out and the rubber mounts pried out. Then push the new BGM PRO rubber mounts back into the housing with a little talcum powder and, if necessary, tap them in gently with a recoil-free hammer. Mount the silent rubber mounts dry, do not grease/oil them. Use talcum powder for easier installation.

Please note: The silent rubber mounts in the Medium/Touring version (BGM7954) must be installed in a specific direction:

• On the left when traveling: Red color marking

• On the right when traveling: Green color marking
