Description
The weights of the variator are subject to constant wear when riding. Due to the centrifugal force when the engine speed increases, the weights in the variator slide outwards in their raceway and thus move the variator and shift the gear ratio. As the contact surface of the weights is quite small, they become flattened after a few thousand kilometres and must be replaced without fail, as otherwise poor shifting behaviour and later possible working into the variator would be the result.
The Top Performance variator weights are made of a highly wear-resistant material and are characterised by their very good accuracy in terms of dimensions and weight. Durability and good sliding behaviour at a fair price!
The weights are used without grease, as the surface is self-lubricating!
20x17mm weights are used as standard in 180cc engines or in the Multivar for 125 & 180cc 2-stroke.
