Description

In order for the fuel-air mixture of the engine to ignite perfectly, a stable ignition spark is required at the right moment. Therefore, the correct choice of spark plug is essential for optimal combustion and performance development of the engine. Special attention should be paid to the thermal value according to the manufacturer's specifications. Since each manufacturer specifies the thermal value differently, for example, a Bosch thermal value of 3 may correspond to an NGK value of 9. For reference, each vehicle manual lists the manufacturer specifications with alternatively usable spark plugs and their exact designations or type codes.

Be careful when using shielded spark plug connectors, double is not always better; in this case, a shielded spark plug should not be used, as the overall shield resistance would be too high.
