Description
This chain case is made in Germany with the original tools and bakelite material

Bakelite is a thermoset plastic based on phenolic resin and was discovered by a chemist in 1905 and named after him. The heat-stable phenolplast material bakelite was the first industrially produced plastic. Bakelite moldings are made by molding pressing and curing a phenolic resin/filler mixture in a heated form. After cooling and curing the plastic, it is resistant to mechanical effects, heat and acids. In contrast to thermoplastics (such as PVC), bakelite cannot be deformed again by heating. Bakelite always has dark, brown to black hues and darkens in light. The pressed compounds usually contain various aggregates, such as rock flour or textile fibres.
