Malossi HTQ Secondary Gearbox 15/47 – longer transmission for noticeably more top speed

When you modify your engine or install a tuning cylinder, there is significantly more power in the setup – and this can (and should) pay off in higher maximum speed. This is exactly where the Malossi HTQ Secondary Gearbox 15/47 comes into play: the original final drive on many scooters is designed so that the stock engine can pull it without problems. With more HP, the opposite of what you want often happens: at higher speeds, the engine quickly "flatlines," the RPMs increase sharply, but the final speed hardly increases.

With the longer secondary transmission, you bring the final RPMs to a manageable level and can allow the maximum speed to increase significantly – ideal, for example, for Piaggio Zip 4T, Vespa ET4 or Vespa S 4V when more power is available.

And don't worry about the well-known myths: a longer transmission does not automatically mean that your scooter will accelerate slower from a standstill. In practice, slightly stiffer clutch springs are usually sufficient to compensate for this. On the contrary: if the gearbox is too short for the available horsepower, you are actually wasting power – because the engine could actually pull more.
