Description

The Schmitt “Drehfreund” crankshaft is specially designed for racing engines and engines with high peak performance. With a stroke of 44mm and an 85mm CNC-machined forged rod, it is ideal for big bore engines with a displacement of 80-110cc. This crankshaft fits the Simson S51, S70, S83 models with M500 and M700 engine cases perfectly.

The technical highlights include optimised pre-compression for a wide torque range and narrower cheeks compared to the steam hammer version. The balance factor is 65%, which ensures excellent balance. The high-strength, lightweight forged rod weighs less than 70g and is CNC-machined to accommodate large 17mm needle bearings on the piston pin.

Another highlight is the larger, silver-plated piston pin bearing measuring 12x17x15mm, which is included in the package. The lubrication of the upper and lower needle bearings is optimised by several extra large holes in the connecting rod. The extended crankshaft stump on the clutch side allows the option of a third crankshaft bearing.

The connecting rod is guided at the bottom and has a reinforced press band and a larger connecting rod eye. This crankshaft is lighter than the original and is speed-resistant over 15,000 rpm. Made of 14NiCrMo13 steel, it stands for the highest quality and durability. Developed in Germany and manufactured in Europe, it offers the perfect combination of performance and reliability.
