Genuine Airsal replacement piston rings for the Airsal Racing 70cc (T6) cylinder kit for Minarelli LC.

Piston rings wear with mileage. If performance drops noticeably on an otherwise healthy engine, worn rings are often the cause. A clear sign is blow-by marks on the piston skirt below the rings (combustion residue caused by poor sealing). A new piston ring set restores full compression, provided the cylinder bore surface and piston are in good condition.

Installation and running-in notes

• On 2-stroke pistons, the ring ends must sit against the locating pins in the ring grooves – otherwise the ring can catch in a port and break.
• Do not overstretch the rings when fitting them; clean carbon deposits from the ring grooves beforehand.
• Lightly oil the rings and cylinder bore surface before assembly.
• If the cylinder bore surface coating is damaged, replacing the rings alone will not help.
• Airsal replacement rings only fit Airsal pistons or cylinders of the specified size.
• Use a new cylinder gasket set during installation.
• After working on the piston and cylinder, run the engine in gently: avoid full load during the first kilometres, vary the engine speed and do not let the engine overheat. Afterwards, check the spark plug colour and carburettor settings.
