Description

If there is a slight loss of compression or performance, it doesn't necessarily mean a completely new cylinder is needed. Most of the time, it's the piston rings that have developed too much end-gap due to natural wear.

Worn piston rings are clearly recognizable by the black, burned piston skirt at the front and rear (so-called Blow-By, past the rings). If the engine is open for maintenance after a few thousand kilometers, it is definitely advisable to install new piston rings and continue to enjoy the cylinder kit for a long time!

The new rings should be broken in for a short time, as they need to be seated. Good oil, warming up, and driving a few kilometers carefully is sufficient!
