Installation and running-in notes

• Check the cylinder bore surface for scoring and wear before installation.
• Observe the piston installation direction indicated by the marking on the piston crown.
• Always use new piston pin clips and check that they are correctly seated in the groove.
• Lightly oil the piston, rings and piston pin before installation.
• Use a new cylinder gasket set during installation.
• After working on the piston and cylinder, run the engine in gently: avoid full load during the first kilometres, vary the engine speed and do not let the engine overheat. Afterwards, check the spark plug colour and carburettor settings.
