Description

Radial shaft seal rings are installed with a tight fit in the motor housing and reliably seal off with their sealing lip. The sealing lip usually runs on the rotating shaft and is pressed onto the shaft surface with a worm spring inserted in the shaft seal ring. Of course, these are also subject to wear and become brittle and leaky after a long period of time (or even a long standstill).

If the engine in the standpipe rotates enormously and can not be adjusted, this can also be a sign of leaking sealing rings (false air). If petrol components are found in the transmission oil, the clutch-side shaft seal ring is usually defective in classic Vespa rollers.

Depending on the manufacturer, our sealing rings are made of different materials. Blue and black sealing rings are mostly manufactured from synthetic rubber (NBR) and meet the current automotive standards. The brown sealing rings are made of fluoroelastomer (FKM), are temperature-stable and have a slightly higher abrasion and oil resistance.

Please compare the dimensions of the seal rings before purchase .

Some Vespa oldtimer models have shaft seal rings with different recesses on the light machine or clutch side. The circular or angular recess for the rinsing of the bearing with a mixture is very important, as otherwise the bearings would not be rinsed. However, what shape you put on your oldie engine is ultimately no matter, as both fit and allow the desired effect!
