- Description
Installation is straightforward: slide down the rubber sleeve, remove the throttle housing, and remove the old throttle tube. Be careful not to damage the throttle cables. Check the cables and housing for damage or wear, clean and grease them or replace as needed. Clean and inspect the handlebar for damage. Slide the new throttle tube onto the handlebar and grease it with a lubricant, preferably Maxima MPPL. Reinstall the throttle cable and housing and tighten the throttle housing in the correct position on the handlebar. Adjust the cable to your specifications and check the proper functioning of the throttle pedal.
Slide the rubber sleeve back over the housing and apply a small amount of RFX adhesive to the outer end of the throttle tube stub. Apply RFX grip glue to the inside of the new grip and slide it onto the rod. Turn the grip into the correct position and let the adhesive dry. Install RFX safety wire if necessary, and recheck the throttle function after the adhesive has dried.
