The German company SW-MOTECH was founded in 1999 by three enthusiastic motorcyclists. Back then, SW-MOTECH already recognized the need for premium metal motorcycle accessories. That's why it's no surprise that SW-MOTECH produced the world's first removable metal pannier rack. In the meantime, SW-MOTECH's product portfolio includes well over 3000 of its own products.
SW-MOTECH History
- 1999The 3 enthusiastic motorcyclists Jörg Diehl, Kai Jockel, and Jürgen Swora found SW-MOTECH in an old barn in Bracht. The goal of the company is to produce premium motorcycle accessories made of metal.
- 2000SW-MOTECH sells the world's first removable metal pannier rack. The portfolio of motorcycle accessories manufactured in-house grows to 25 this year.
- 2001SW-MOTECH opens its plant in Vojkovice, one of the most famous Czech engineering regions near Brno.
- 2002New products such as SW-MOTECH crash bars and SW-MOTECH main stands for the BMW F650 GS are launched.
- 2003Achim Kesseler founds the company BAGS-CONNECTION in Frankenberg. BAGS-CONNECTION is specialized in motorcycle soft luggage.
- 2004Due to rapidly increasing demand and internationalization, SW-MOTECH moves to its current headquarters in Rauschenberg.
- 2005With the patented QUICK-LOCK tank ring for tank bags, SW-MOTECH revolutionizes the tank bag market. The company manufactures the first OEM tank bags, tail bags and backpacks for Suzuki.
- 2006The warehouse is expanded by 486 m². SW-MOTECH and BAGS-CONNECTION now have a joint headquarters and develop the first joint products.
- 2007The OEM business is further expanded. BAGS-CONNECTION now manufactures the inner bags for the side cases of the Kawasaki GTR1400.
- 2008The first motorcycle aluminum cases from SW-MOTECH are launched. Another warehouse with 762m² is built.
- 2009SW-MOTECH launches the first AERO ABS plastic side cases.
- 2010The SW-MOTECH BLAZE motorcycle saddlebags with patented removable spacer bars are launched.
- 2011The first vibration-damped QUICK-LOCK GPS holder for cell phones and navigation devices is introduced. The 3rd expansion is completed. A high-bay warehouse with 1,515m².
- 2012Due to the continuous growth, the 4 expansion, a three-storey building with 1230m², a mix of office and warehouse is built. New SW-MOTECH motorcycle tank bags and motorcycle tail bags made of high quality materials in exclusive design are released.
- 2013Robot-assisted production in Rauschenberg is being expanded.
- 2014BAGS-CONNECTION and SW-MOTECH merge to form today's SW-MOTECH GmbH & Co. KG merge. The waterproof as well as dustproof TRAX ADV aluminum cases are launched on the market.
- 2015In order to meet the high demand for SW-MOTECH motorcycle accessories products, the plant in the Czech Republic is expanded. A plant for powder coating and another CNC laser cutting plant are put into operation.
- 2016SW-MOTECH brings with the product line Legend Gear, motorcycle soft luggage in retro look on the market.
- 2017The company continues to grow. The 5 extension is completed. A 4,200m² warehouse and a 900m² office building are built.
- 2018SW-MOTECH opens its own seat manufacturing facility in Rauschenberg. There, SW-MOTECH motorcycle seats are now manufactured according to customer requirements.
