The fork of your motorcycle is supported by the steering head bearings (also known as control sets) for rotational movement. Excessive play due to wear and tear or too loosely placed bearings results in poor and very spongy handling. Checking the movement of the front bearings is also part of every TÜV inspection on motorcycles!

Apply enough grease when installing the bearings! Observe the manufacturer's torque specifications, check ease of movement after inserting the fork!
