Description

Anyone who rides a Gilera Runner with "grease fitting" will certainly have been annoyed by the poorly damping original fork.

The USD (Upside-Down) fork installed by Piaggio / Gilera as standard is not actually a proper USD fork, but merely comes with a grease filling. The indicated oil seals are only grease scrapers. The fork loses all the properties that should be present in a reasonable front wheel guide of a sports scooter even at a young age after just a few thousand kilometers.

The grease leaks out, contaminates the stanchions, and the TÜV (vehicle inspection) will often complain about this. It bottoms out when compressing or easily gets stuck at the bottom. Road bumps are directly passed on to the rider...

The EBR fork is an oil-damped telescopic fork, with the lower tubes at the bottom. It was first used in this design in the larger Gilera Runner models with the four-stroke engine (VX 125 and VXR 180 / 200).

The oil can of course be changed on this fork.

Especially with performance-enhanced scooters (but of course also with original scooters!) you should invest a little in the chassis. With this fork you have a completely new riding experience, better front wheel guidance and the braking performance also improves immensely through the better immersion of the fork! You are also doing something for your safety.
