Please check and read before purchasing! There are 2 different valve seats!
Many drivers of an older Piaggio or Gilera scooter with Piaggio's large two-stroke engine are familiar with the problem:
You come to the garage in the morning and it smells of gasoline, a puddle has formed under the scooter! Often, the gasoline consumption of the scooter also increases! The cause is usually a worn needle valve / valve seat and its O-ring for sealing.
Hexagon 125 & 150: Here, 2 different tank systems were installed.
The first Hexagons did not have an expansion tank (intermediate tank) under the seat bench. Here, the full pressure of the gasoline pump is applied to the carburetor. To compensate for this, Piaggio chose the bore in the needle valve seats to be "1.0" (very small). These models are known for overflowing carburetors and worn needle valves.
Shortly after, the design was changed, and the Hexagon received a small intermediate tank with a large return line to the tank under the seat bench. Here, a needle valve with a larger bore was then installed. Bore = "2.0", as the full pressure of the gasoline pump was no longer present.
In this auction, we offer the original needle valve including new needle and O-ring bore 2.0 for all Mikuni VM20 carburetors. Suitable for all Hexagons that have a gasoline expansion tank.
Only suitable for Mikuni carburetors! We also offer the needle valve 1.0 for Hexagon 125 / 150 without an expansion tank as an alternative. All other vehicles in the application list had the 2.0 valve installed!
