Description
The Schmitt “Dampfhammer” crankshaft is specially designed for racing and engines with high peak performance. With a stroke of 44mm and an 85mm CNC-machined forged rod, it is ideal for big bore engines with a displacement of 80-110cc. This crankshaft fits Simson models such as S51, S70, S83 with M500 and M700 engine cases.
The technical highlights include optimised pre-compression, which supports a wide torque range from 80cc to 110cc. The balance factor is 65%, which ensures an excellent balance. The high-strength but lightweight forged rod weighs less than 70g and is designed for large 17mm needle bearings on the piston pin. A larger, silver-plated piston pin bearing (12x17x15mm) for 12mm piston pins is included.
In addition, the crankshaft has several extra large holes in the connecting rod, which ensure optimum lubrication of the needle bearings. The extended crankshaft stump on the clutch side allows the installation of an optional third crankshaft bearing. The connecting rod is at the bottom and the press joint has been reinforced to ensure greater stability. The crankshaft is 10-15% heavier than the standard version and is speed-resistant over 15,000 rpm. Made of 14NiCrMo13 steel, it offers the highest quality and durability. Developed in Germany and manufactured in Europe, this crankshaft stands for precision and performance.
