Malossi MHR contrast spring red – more belt grip for 125/150 Maxi-Scooters

The reinforced Malossi MHR contrast spring (red) is made for the rear converter of 125cc and 150cc Maxi-Scooters with GY6, Kymco, Honda or Piaggio iGet engines. It provides more clamping force on the V-belt – as a result, the belt is less prone to slipping and the traction on the belt increases noticeably.

Especially for setups that are already moving towards tuning, this is a real advantage: if your Honda SH 125i / SH 150 slips when starting, your Kymco Agility 125 shows slip under load or your Vespa Primavera 150 3V should get a more stable power transfer, this contrast spring is a sensible measure. You simply replace it with the original.

Notes on the spring rate (Malossi specifications)

Important: Unfortunately, Malossi does not specify exactly how much the pressure changes compared to the OEM contrast spring for Maxi-Scooters. However, spring hardness (K) and length are specified – this allows the springs to be compared with each other at least:

• For large scooters: green contrast springs are softer than the OEM spring
• All other colors are generally harder than the OEM spring
• The higher the (K) value, the harder the spring
• With the same (K) value, the longer spring is harder
