Description

Malossi MHR Contrast Spring (purple) – more belt grip for your Kymco AK 550

The reinforced Malossi MHR contrast spring in purple is developed for the rear converter and fits the Kymco AK 550 / AK 550ie maxi scooter. Due to the higher pressure force on the V-belt, the tendency to slip is reduced – the traction on the belt increases noticeably. That is exactly why this spring is particularly useful for tuned setups or if your Kymco AK 550 is struggling with a slipping belt.

Installation is uncomplicated: you simply replace the spring instead of the original.

Important to know: unfortunately, Malossi does not specify for maxi scooters how much the pressure changes compared to the OEM contrast spring. Instead, spring rate (K) and spring length are provided – so you can compare the springs clearly against each other.

Product Properties / Advantages

  • Reinforced contrast spring from Malossi for the rear converter
  • Increases the pressure force on the V-belt → less slipping
  • More traction on the belt – ideal for tuning & performance increase
  • Easy replacement of the stock spring
  • Malossi MHR version, color: purple

Technical Data / Specifications

  • Spring rate: K19.74
  • Length: L105 mm

Comparison & Tuning Notes (Maxi Scooters)

  • Green contrast springs are softer than the OEM spring
  • All other springs are harder than the OEM spring
  • The higher the (K) value, the harder the spring
  • With the same (K) value, the following applies: the longer spring is harder

Compatibility

  • Kymco AK 550

If you want to tune your Kymco AK 550 precisely and the belt should no longer slip under load, this Malossi MHR contrast spring is a suitable and reliable solution.
