Description
The oversize CVT of Stage6. Unlike conventional steel converters, the oversize CVT is composed of forged aluminium halves that are screwed to guide pads. The halves are rotated on CNC machines prior to assembly, which increases the precision of the component and, above all, the edge angle. Particular emphasis is placed on surface roughness, as this significantly influences the switching and downshift behavior of the converter. Finally, the surface is preserved by a ceramic deep coating to preserve these properties for as long as possible.
Other advantages of the modular system are the reduced heat generation, the significantly lower weight and the interchangeability of the individual components during wear.
The CVT is supplied with a guide dome with two angles of 38/41°. Optionally, lenses with 39/42° and 37/40° are available. This option can also be found for the first time in a converter system.
The oversize converter is only useful when used with an oversize vario and an oversize belt. Stage6 recommends the R/T Vario and R/T V-belts, but the converter can also be combined with products from other manufacturers.
