Description
The clutch linings in the Vespa engine ensure the frictional connection between the crankshaft and the gearbox. If they are worn, the clutch will slip. The revs go up, but the engine has little or no propulsion! This is also noticeable if, despite adjusting the clutch lever, the gears only engage with a crash or imprecisely! In this case, the clutch does not separate cleanly.
Since the Vespa clutch runs in an oil bath, you should always place new pads in a bowl with the appropriate oil overnight before installing them, so that the pads can soak up enough oil.
The standard clutch facings from Ferodo (3 facings) are made of cork like the original ones and are intended for original engines.
For engines with increased performance, we recommend using harder clutch springs and more friction discs. Due to the low parts cost of a clutch overhaul, we recommend replacing the plates early rather than too late if you need major maintenance! Order a new lock plate and a new nut for the clutch basket directly! Don't forget the gearbox oil and the O-ring of the clutch cover should also be replaced directly.
