The RMS starter batteries are characterized by:

• lower self-discharge of the battery and therefore a much longer service life

The battery comes as an acid battery including an acid pack suitable for the battery for filling. The batteries are pre-charged dry after production, which means that they are basically ready for use after the first filling with acid. The performance and service life of acid batteries can be slightly increased if they are recharged after filling with a suitable charger. Please note: After filling with battery acid, the battery must "rest" for about 30-60 minutes with open stoppers to vent.

Note on battery disposal

Old batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. End users are legally obliged to return batteries to a suitable collection point. Starter batteries can be returned free of charge to municipal collection points or to dealers who carry starter batteries. The symbol of the crossed-out dustbin indicates this obligation.

Shipping of old batteries via regular parcel services is generally not possible due to the hazardous goods regulations. Alternatively, old batteries can be disposed of free of charge at municipal recycling centers or in specialist shops.

Meaning of the battery symbols

Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out dustbin. This symbol indicates that batteries must not be put into household waste.

Batteries containing more than 0.0005% mercury by mass, more than 0.002% cadmium by mass or more than 0.004% lead by mass have the chemical designation of the respective pollutant used under the dustbin symbol - "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" stands for lead, and "Hg" stands for mercury.
