Description
Piaggio cylinders feature a Cone-Counter-Cone System at the exhaust port for sealing the exhaust system. This eliminates the need to install an additional exhaust gasket, as the exhaust manifold seals when tightened by its cone fitting into the cylinder's counter-cone.
However, some manufacturers of aftermarket exhaust systems only offer flat flanges on their systems. This leaves very little sealing surface due to the existing counter-cone on the cylinder, and leaks can often occur there.
This innovation provides a solution. The flange plate is simply placed between the exhaust system and the cylinder. One side has the required cone, and the other side offers sufficient sealing surface for the flat flange of the exhaust system.
