En tant que pièce de rechange, le mécanisme de visière sert à fixer une visière de casque compatible de manière mobile sur le casque et à permettre son ouverture et sa fermeture. Il peut être utilisé pour la remise en état en cas d'usure ou de dommage du mécanisme existant.
