Selector Claw BGM PRO SPORT for Vespa Smallframe PV, ET3, PK S, PK XL, PK XL2/FL2/HP

BGM PRO has updated its successful selector claw BGM6550. The successor BGM6555 features a completely redesigned detent profile. This ensures even more precise gear engagement and completely eliminates the dreaded gear jumping.

The BGM Pro selector claw is made of high-quality 15CrMo5 (SCM415) chrome molybdenum steel, making it very resistant. The flanks are very tightly toleranced compared to the selector claws otherwise available on the market. This guides the claw precisely in the main shaft and effectively prevents skewing/tilting.

FITS
The BGM Pro selector claw is manufactured for the so-called PK gearbox type. This is used with the round type selector claw (overall length of 50mm). A round type selector claw means that the pins that engage in the gear wheel are provided with a radius at the transition to the end of the arm.

IDENTIFYING THE GEARBOX
The PK type can be recognised by the markings on the gear wheels. These always begin with 42xx (=round selector claw with 50mm). The old type is identified by the numbering 37xx (=square selector claw with 51mm). The easiest way to identify such a gearbox type from the outside is by the conventional rear wheel nut with M16 thread and lock washer including cotter pin. The older engines (with the previous gearbox type = selector claw 51mm / square) only have an M14 crown nut including cotter pin (without lock cage).

ALSO SUITABLE V50/PV/ET3 from model year 1976 onwards
The PK gearbox version was already used in the last years of production of the V50 (V5A1T from no. 69444), V50 Special (V5B3T from no. 94315), V550 Elestart (V5B4T from no. 1514) and the PV125 (VMA2T from no. 150203) and ET3 (VMB1T from no. 8161). The selector claw can, of course, also be combined with the main shaft of the older engines (M14 thread) if the gear wheels of the new gearbox type (PK marking 42) are also used at the same time.

INTENDED USE
The BGM Pro selector claw is designed for racing and has already been used very successfully there. However, it can be used without restriction in everyday operation and also convinces there with its high quality, perfect gear changing performance and very long durability.

COMBINATION
The BGM PRO Sport selector claw is perfectly matched to the combination with the BGM PRO gear wheels and the BGM PRO main shaft. However, like all BGM PRO vehicle parts, it was strictly designed for downward compatibility with standard parts.

CONCLUSION
The new BGM PRO SPORT selector claw offers a high standard of reliability and improves the shifting precision and durability of the Smallframe gearboxes.
